Blog Assembly: July 2010

Here is a collection of blog posts I’ve read this month that I enjoyed:

Diet is Not a ReligionChocolate Covered Katie

Katie really hits the nail on the head when she says “guilt is present in so many areas of our lives”, especially food.  She goes on to say that a perfect diet does not exist and people shouldn’t look at their diet in terms of black or white.  This fully supports my belief that it’s not all or nothing.  Amen sister!

Basil and Herb Cashew “Cheese” SpreadThe Clean Eating Mama

I really want to try this recipe SOON.  I think it would be great to take to a party and maybe a nice alternative to hummus?  I also have fresh basil in my garden and am looking for interesting ways to use it.

What’s in Your PurseBe More With Less

This blog is actually from June but I just started reading Be More With Less this month as I am really starting to think about simplifying my life.  I love the idea of living with less and a great place to start is my purse.

Interview: Chef AJHappy Herbivore

I thought this interview was interesting because of the strong stance against oil, even olive oil.  I have always been under the impression that certain oils are good for you.  I may have to do some research of my own on this topic.

Ironman Lake Placid — The Race ReportVegan Heart Doc

I will never, ever do an Ironman myself (I’m scared of swimming), but I can live vicariously through other people’s race recaps.  I love that she’s a normal person doing an Ironman.  Not some professional, elite athlete.  She is amazing and inspiring!
